Hermandad Mexicana Nacional

"Serving the Latino Community"

Welcome to the official website of Hermandad Mexicana Nacional's Programs. HMN is a non-profit organization that has spent the last 70 years helping the Latino community in the United States!

Hermandad Mexicana Nacional (HMN) was founded as a non-profit organization, with more than 50 years of experience, and has strengthened and supported the immigrant community. Hermandad Mexicana Nacional is dedicated to providing services and protecting the needs and rights of Spanish-speaking immigrants. One of the most significant achievements in the history of Hermandad Mexicana Nacional is that the organization was a leading instrument in legislation to legalize millions of immigrants, through the law established in 1986 called IRCA (Immigration Reform and Control Act). Our headquarters are in North Hollywood, CA, with more than 20 offices in Los Angeles County, Orange, Ventura, San Bernardino, and San Diego. Hermandad Mexicana Nacional has become a prestigious organization in citizenship and immigration services.

Hermandad Mexicana Nacional is based on the tireless fight for immigrant rights that was started by our founder Bert Corona (1918-2001), who was a visionary leader who dedicated his life to improving the social and political conditions of immigrant life. He was a pioneer in proposing solutions to several problems affecting minorities and disadvantaged people in the United States. Bert Corona's biography "Memories of Chicano History - The Life and Narrative of Bert Corona" illustrates Corona's role in the struggle to improve the conditions of Mexicans in the United States.

The organization provides immigration counseling to approximately 25,000 people a month. In addition, Hermandad helps approximately 500 immigrants complete their citizenship application process each month. Hermandad has grown into a powerful organization dedicated to providing social services and organizing Spanish-speaking immigrants. HMN works in partnership with a diverse group of labor unions, churches, schools, recreational parks, and other non-profit organizations. In conjunction with these other organizations, we have made significant contributions to the advancement of Spanish-speaking people.
