The Council District 1 HMN office is located at 2648 Figueroa St, Los Angeles, CA 90065. The office is very active in promoting the program and assisting LADWP clients with financial assistance applications. Extensive outreach includes Glassell Park, Highland Park, Pico-Union, and Lincoln Heights neighborhoods. Workshops have been conducted at Woodrow Wilson High School (March 17, 2023), Sonia Sotomayor Magnet (May 9, 2023) Burbank Middle Schools (May 31, 2023). Park Sycamore, Divine Savior, Second Street Elementary, Florence Nightingale Elementary, and Mendez Elementary are other locations we engaged with as well. The program continues to train residents at affordable housing projects. Outreach was obtained from on-site personnel such as housing managers and social services coordinators. They assisted the program by passing out flyers door to door and making Park Sycamore (April 11, 2023).
One of HMN's offices is located at 7915 Van Nuys Blvd, Panorama City, CA 91402, in the heart of City Council District 6. The other office within the district is located at 11559 Sherman Way, North Hollywood, CA, and serves residents of Sun Valley, CA. Several workshops have been held at HMN Panorama City (December 3, 2022, May 12, 2023, June 8, 2023) and North Hollywood (February 1, 2023, May 5, 2023). After several emails and a personal meeting with Pastor Luis Penderecki at Saint Rosary Church, arrangements were made to distribute information and set tables at the church's front door during Sunday's masses. Potential workshop participants were signed up.
Parents centers within LAUSD schools located in Sun Valley, Panorama City, and North Hills were reached through letters, phone calls, and personal meetings. Workshops were conducted at the following locations: Vista Middle School, HMN-Panorama City, HMN-North Hollywood, Michael Obama Elementary, and Blythe Street Apartments. We reached about 128 residents at Blythe Street and 528 at Colonia Corona. A total of 38 affordable housing residents participated in four workshops. Workshops continued at our HMN Offices.
HMN has an office at 13686 Van Nuys Blvd, Pacoima, CA 91331. We have given workshops at the following schools: Haddon Avenue Steam Elementary (May 24, 2023), Vena Avenue Elementary School, James Monroe High School (May 12, 2023), Noble Avenue Elementary (May 30, 2023), and North Hills Elementary. Outreach and a workshop were conducted at the fields of Lab-Five Soccer (May 11, 2023). The program has made commitments from other schools to schedule Hermandad's workshops once the new school year starts on August 1, 2023, among others, Sharp Avenue Elementary is in Arleta. A workshop was held at the Pacoima office on March 11, 2023.
HMN's office is located at 116 E Pacific Coast Hwy, Wilmington, CA 90744. A total of 34 workshops have taken place in Wilmington with 281 participants. A total of 13 seminars were implemented throughout the HMN office with 78 workshop participants. The program was proposed and was able to work with most of the public schools, Wilmington Senior Citizen Center. Outreach was conducted at Holy Family Church during September and October 2023 and St Peter and St Pablo in November and December 2022 with a total participation of 20 individuals.
Workshops were conducted at Wilmington Park Elementary (February 6, 2023), Harry Bridges Span School (February 9, 2023), Frias Elementary (December 17, 2022), and Wilmington Middle. School Magnet (May 11, 2023, and June 1, 2023), and Barton Hill Elementary (May 18, 2023).
Productive working relationships were incited at the Banning Apartment complex in Wilmington; a workshop was conducted with senior members on April 25, 2023, and additional assistance to complete the application was provided among senior residents on July 12, 2023. Several workshops were conducted among seniors' clubs, among others Senior Citizen Center Latino Club (22 participants, June 29), Sincere Club (14 Participants, June 7, 2023), and Wilmington Harbor Club (October 27, 2022, 13 participants).
